Warning About Addiction
While kratom is an a-typical opioid, even as a partial agonist to the μ (mu) receptor, the plant-based product can be abused, habit-forming, and/or addictive for many, especially those with a history of disordered substance use.
Beware of Risks
While relatively safer than other substances, there are dangers associated with use, in particular from interactions with other drugs, alcohol, and certain prescriptions.
Regulation Change Needed
Kevin was going to come on our podcast, but he relapsed and was not able to get back into recovery. He died from confirmed mitragynine toxicity. New common sense safeguards for the kratom market marketplaceplace could greatly improve safety.
